The Boys & Girls Club of the Heartland is seeking to construct the new Regional Workforce Development Teen Center facility that will operate after school hours. Once each school district dismisses, RWDTC enrolled students will be transported from their community to the RWDTC and Three Rivers College facilities. After thorough mentoring and career exploration activities have been completed, youth will be presented the option to pursue college-level technical career certification or traditional and transferable college credit hours. Depending on the route they’ve chosen, they will enroll in one to two evening classes per semester with classes held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Outside of class time, students will have access to academic assistance and tutoring by Certified Teachers and Youth Development Professionals who can assist with both high school and college materials. Upon completion of the program, students have the opportunity to walk across both their high school and college graduation stage and successfully enter into the workforce, or transfer on with 18 college credit hours to continue pursuit of post-secondary educational advancement. The center will have the capacity to expand their reach into a total of 24 school districts. It will be located directly adjacent to the Poplar Bluff Senior High and Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center.

Contingent upon site conditions and budget, it is desired to design and build the new facility to be expandable to provide for future growth, both inside the walls by including future shelled in space and on-site, with future building additions.
